Texans 4×400-meter relay squad NCAA passes provisional mark again

AUSTIN— Tarleton Track & Field wrapped up its final day of competition at the 91st annual Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays at Mike A. Myers Stadium on Friday with two NCAA provisional marks.

The Texans 4×400-meter relay team surpassed a provisional mark for the second straight week. Zachary Martinez, Anterius Brown, Jevon Wallace, and Colton Troutman finished with a time of 3:13.97 and placed 25th at the meet. Dalton Stidham also finished 25th after clocking an NCAA provisional time of 14.36 in the 110-meter hurdles. This marks the third consecutive meet the junior has exceeded a provisional time.

Rascellis Williams cleared an outdoor season-best 6′ 6.75″ (2.00m) in the high jump to finish him tenth. Jamel Anderson competed in the 100-meter dash for the Texans and finished 83rd with a time of 10.87. Anderson, Jevon Wallace, Zachary Martinez, and Stidham placed 38th in the 4×100-meter relay after running 42.65.

On the Women’s side, Kylee Ponder, TaKehra Jones, Robbie Clarke, and Jasmine McQuirter ran a 48.80 in the 4×400-meter relay and finished 42nd. McQuirter (12.29) and Ponder (12.49) each competed in the 100-meter dash and had season best times finishing 99th and 110th, respectively.

Tarleton will head to San Angelo next weekend to compete in the Angelo State David Noble Relays Thursday April 5, through Saturday April 7.
