Keith Wright drove in five runs via a pair of doubles and a single and the Dublin Lions baseball team thundered over Comanche’s Indians by a 10-6 score Tuesday at home.
The win gives Coach Kellen Cervetto’s squad the third place spot out of the district and it’s the third straight year the Lions are in the playoffs. That’s a huge turnaround for the Lions who were 0-18 before Cervetto’s arrival.
Dublin’s turnaround this season has also been remarkable after starting out the first half of district play at 1-4 before turning it all around with a 5-0 run in the second half.
“We were kind of snake bit in the first half,” Cervetto said. “We were losing games by one or two runs but we turned that around we came together as a team”
Dublin’s third-place playoff is secure and the Lions are expected to face either Jim Ned or Coahoma in the bi-district round.
