TexAnn Golf selected to 12th straight regional tournament

STEPHENVILLE – Tarleton Women’s Golf has been selected to its 12th straight NCAA Division II West Super Regional Tournament, the NCAA announced on Monday.

The TexAnns will travel to Durango, Colorado on May 7-9 to play at the Hillcrest Country Club. Tarleton has won nine regional tournaments in program history, the most in Lone Star Conference history.

The TexAnns are the No. 13-ranked team in the Golfstat national rankings and are coming off the 11th Lone Star Conference championship in program history. Four TexAnns placed in the top five on the LSC individual leaderboard, with Casey Leatherman placing second, followed by Junie Khaw and Casey Wild tying for third and Sarah Gee finishing fifth. Gee was named the LSC Player of the Year, the 10th straight year a TexAnns has received the award.

There are 12 teams advancing to the West Super Regional with the top three teams and top three individuals from non-qualifying teams advancing to the NCAA Championships at the Bay Oaks Country Club in Houston on May 16-19.

The TexAnns are the highest ranked Lone Star Conference team in the regional at No. 4. West Texas A&M (5) and Midwestern State (10) are also advancing to the regional tournament.
