STEPHENVILLE – Tarleton finished the season as the No. 20-ranked team in the nation by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association in the final poll Wednesday afternoon. It’s the ninth straight poll in which Tarleton has appeared.
Tarleton finished the year with a school-record 50 wins and its second appearance in the South Central Region Tournament championship game. Tarleton is one of only six teams in the national poll with at least 50 wins this season.
For Tarleton, it’s the 12th week in school history to be a national top-20 team. Tarleton continues its record streak of weeks in the top 20 at eight straight.
It’s the ninth straight week for Tarleton in the poll after being No. 25, 20, 18, 16, 17, 15, 15, and 17 in the previous eight weeks. The TexAnns are one of three Lone Star Conference teams in the national top 25, joining Angelo State (6) and Texas A&M-Commerce (9).
