STEPHENVILLE (June 14, 2018) — Tarleton State University saddle bronc rider Brody Cress got a disappointing effort from the horse he drew Wednesday night at the College National Finals Rodeo in Casper, Wyo.

The only Tarleton rodeo team member in action Wednesday, Cress was awarded a re-ride and will draw to compete tonight or Friday. Cress, the reigning National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association Southwest Region saddle bronc champion, scored a 73 on Tuesday after being bucked off his first-round mount Sunday.

Team roper Ky Bray, like Cress on Wednesday, is the lone Tarleton cowboy on today’s schedule. He missed both his first two steers and is looking to finish his first CNFR appearance on a high note.

Bareback rider Linden Woods, tie-down roper Wyatt Williams, breakaway roper Rylee Jo Dick and goat tying specialist Baili Collins are all scheduled to compete Friday.

The championship finals for each event are Saturday.
