Please join us for a community reception to celebrate the recent historic designation for Stephenville’s Downtown District and the Erath Arches.
We will gather at the Paradigm Building at First Baptist Church for a reception and will then cut the ribbon between the arches on the corner of Washington St. and Erath Ave.
After the reception, the community is invited to continue the celebration by Downtown Merchants for their annual Ice Cream Social from 6:00 – 8:00 pm followed by the Texstar Ford Summer Concert in the City Park featuring Ricky Skaggs at 8:00 pm.
Erath Arches: Registered Texas Historic Landmark featuring two mirror imaged quarried limestone arches, complete with a bronze plaque sketching the life of Major George B. Erath. Protector of the Texas frontier, the hero of San Jacinto, major in the Confederate Army, and a member of the Texas Congress and Legislature, Erath County was named in his honor.
