TexAnn Cross Country ranked No. 6 in USTFCCCA regional preseason poll

STEPHENVILLE – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) has the TexAnns ranked No. 6 in the South Central Regional Coaches’ preseason rankings.

The TexAnns are the preseason favorites in the Lone Star Conference rankings after winning the second LSC Championship in program history last season. The TexAnns are the highest ranked Lone Star Conference team in the USTFCCCA regional preseason poll, finishing ahead of West Texas A&M (8), Midwestern State (9) and Eastern New Mexico (10). The TexAnns have all 11 runners returning from last year’s LSC title team that qualified for the NCAA South Central Regional Championships, including the LSC Female Cross Country Runner of the Year in Esmeralda Fuentes. In addition to four all-conference runners returning, Amy Riera was also named the LSC Newcomer of the Year and is returning for her junior year.
