Stephenville has a playoff berth wrapped up and is off Friday night which will give coaches a chance to branch out and visit potential playoff opponents the Jackets might be facing in the first round and second round of the playoffs.

The Jackets first-round opponent will be either Lake Worth (5-4) or Fort Worth Dunbar (4-4) and those two teams match up in their final regular season game for the honor of facing Stephenville in bi-district.

Dublin looks to maintain its third-place spot in District 6-3A after a setback last week against Comanche. The Lions started 7-0 before suffering a loss to Jacksboro, but still had a shot at the league crown going into last week.

This week the Lions need to down Millsap (3-5, 2-2) to hold onto that third-place spot. Millsap has won two league games against cellar dwellers Tolar and Rio Vista and has put up only 144 points this season. The Lions kickoff at 7 PM Friday.

Everyone’s game of the week pick seems to be DeLeon traveling to San Saba for a battle of the “district unbeatens” and a league championship in 7-2A. The Bearcats have surged after early season struggles with injuries and this should be a game where both defenses will be tested by high-powered offenses. Game time is at 7:30 PM Friday.

Hico is playing for pride this week after suffering through a tough season, and it doesn’t get much better in the Tiger’s final game against Crawford. One factor playing in Hico’s is they are playing host to the Pirates.
