ERATH COUNTY (November 20, 2018) – Have you noticed trouble with Facebook today? The Flash staff has! So we checked into it and discovered we weren’t the only ones.
According to DownDector.com, Facebook and sister site Instagram have gone down overnight (most reports were early this morning). This marks the second time in just over a week for the tech giant to face total blackout in major cities across the US and Europe.
Social media users were reporting frequent log-in and site loading issues both on the website and app, which Facebook says they are working to fix currently. Users on DownDetector.com report they get an error message and failure to load page when attempting to use both Facebook and Instagram.
Facebook developer, Marissa Hoek, posted on the Facebook developer page the company was, “currently experiencing issues that may cause some API requests to take longer or fail unexpectedly. We are investigating the issue and working on a resolution.”
Facebook and Instagram users have taken to Twitter, as well as other social media, to express their disappointment and frustration at the situation. And, as with all things internet, the memes were hilarious and can be found at #FacebookDown and #InstagramDown.
