Dorothy Alma Lucas, born in Live Oak County, Texas on October 1, 1920 to parents James and Bessie (Wigley) Shedd, passed away in Seguin, Texas on January 28, 2019 at age 98. Dorothy loved her family and was a devoted caretaker to her 15 children. Dorothy loved working puzzles.
Preceding Dorothy in death were her parents, husband Lewis Lucas, sons, Alvin Lucas and Patrick Lucas, four sisters and two brothers.
Surviving Dorothy are children, Dorothy “Dee” Phipps, Peggy Rogers, Millie Bell, Wanda Lucas, Brenda Chick, Larry Lucas, Mike Lucas, Jerry Lucas, Floyd Lucas, Donald Lucas, John Lucas, Walter Lucas, Ricky Lucas.
Dorothy is also survived by one brother, Eldridge Shedd, 35 grandchildren, five great- great grandchildren.
Visitation 6-8 pm, Thursday January 31, 2019 at Harvest Hills Funeral Home. Services 2:00 pm, Friday February 1, 2019 at Harvest Hills Funeral Home, with Pastor Neil Wade officiating. Burial to follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Hamilton, Texas with several of Dorothy’s 22 grandsons participating as pallbearers.
