The junior hit .400 with three home runs, eight RBI, and six runs scored to lead Tarleton to its first series win of the season with three wins over UC Colorado Springs. The Mountain Lions came into Stephenville with a 7-3 record and among the top teams in the South Central region but Tarleton won three out of four in the series, led by Parker’s efforts.

In the series opener, Parker went 3-4 at the dish with two home runs – his first career long ball at Tarleton. In Sunday’s doubleheader opener, Parker continued his torrid pace with a career high five RBI on two hits, including another homer.

Meanwhile, Archibald continued to deal for Tarleton as the senior threw six more shutout innings – extending his streak of consecutive shutout innings to 13.

The Palmer native went six innings of shutout baseball, allowing just three hits and striking out seven to lead the Texans to a 10-0 shutout win in game two of Saturday’s doubleheader sweep of UC Colorado Springs.

It’s the first career LSC award for Parker and the second consecutive pitcher of the week honor for Archibald, who earned last week’s recognition after his one-hit effort against UAFS.

Parker, Archibald and the Texans will visit San Angelo for four non-conference games this weekend against Angelo State. The series begins Friday at 6:30 p.m.
