Stephenville broke away from a 3-3 tie with a four-run fourth inning and held Hillsboro at bay the rest of the way for an 8-5 road win Thursday.
With the score knotted up after the third inning, Madison Gilder singled in a run and Bianka Garcia stroked a double driving in two more runs.
Garcia got the start for the Honeybees on the mound where she allowed five hits and struck out five for a complete game win. Garcia was also 3-3 at the plate.
The Bees were in a swiping mood and stole 11 bases including a game-high four from Madison Gilder. The win lifts the Bees’ record to 6-12 on the year. Stephenville’s next game will be at home Friday, March 13 against China Spring the game will be at 12:30 p.m.
