Tarleton Tennis moves to No. 6 in South Central regional poll

STEPHENVILLE – Tarleton has checked in at No. 6 in the NCAA Regional Tennis rankings, which were released Wednesday afternoon. This is the second regional release of the season and the first that Tarleton has been ranked.

Tarleton is 10-7 overall this season with a 8-6 mark against NCAA Division II competition.

Angelo State leads the regional poll at No. 1 while MSU Texas and Kingsville check in at No. 3 and 4, respectively. St. Edward’s holds the No. 2 position while St. Mary’s joins Tarleton on the outside looking in at No. 5.

Four teams will represent the South Central region in the national playoffs, which includes the tournament champions from the Heartland and Lone Star Conference as well as two at-large teams from within the LSC, Heartland, and Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.

Tarleton will take the court in the Lone Star Conference Championship Tournament on Thursday at 2 p.m. in the quarterfinals against Cameron at the Waco Regional Tennis Center.
