CANYON – Tarleton’s Brian Archibald and Colby Seltzer were named to the All-Lone Star Conference team at the annual postseason awards banquet in Canyon Wednesday night.
Archibald, a senior right-handed pitcher from Palmer, was named to the All-LSC Second Team while Seltzer was chosen as an honorable mention catcher in his debut collegiate campaign. Seltzer is a freshman from Ft. Worth.
Archibald has been the ace of the pitching staff all season for Tarleton and boasts a 3.25 ERA in 72.0 innings of work with a 6-4 record on the hill. He has the sixth-lowest ERA in the Lone Star Conference and is tied for the lead-league in complete games and shutouts. He also has the second-most innings pitched in the LSC (72.0) and the third-most strikeouts (74).
Seltzer enjoyed one of the top seasons by a true freshman in Tarleton history. The youngster from Ft. Worth hit .297 while bouncing all over the infield as a catcher, third baseman, second baseman and designated hitter. He leads the team with 13 doubles and has driven in 25 RBI. He also leads the team with a .904 OPS.
Tarleton will compete in the LSC Baseball Championship presented by Under Armour tomorrow at 7 p.m. against Texas A&M-Kingsville at Wilder Park in Canyon.
