Tarleton Baseball heads to Canyon looking to defend LSC Tournament title


Tarleton earned the No. 6 seed in the Lone Star Conference Baseball Championship in Canyon, Texas and will take on No. 3-seed Texas A&M-Kingsville on Thursday, May 9 at 7 p.m. at Wilder Park. The single-elimination conference tournament will take place on May 9-11. If the Texans win the opener, they will take on No. 2-seed West Texas A&M on Friday at 7 p.m. The Championship game is scheduled for 3 p.m. on Saturday.

Tarleton is not ranked in the NCAA regional poll. The Texans will need to win all three games this weekend in Canyon to continue their season in the NCAA regional tournament.

Tickets are available at the West Texas A&M Ticket Office at (806) 651-1400. All students from a participating school will receive free admission with valid ID. General admission seats are $5 and reserved seats are $10. Children under two will be admitted free.

Tarleton took the series opener against UT Permian Basin on a walk-off home run from Jordan Parker. The Texans dropped the series with losses in the next three games.

Tarleton will need to win the tournament and receive the automatic qualifying bid into the NCAA regional tournament next weekend.
