The 2019 Google Cloud Academic All-District Softball Team recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The Google Cloud Academic All-America® program separately recognizes softball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

First-team Academic All-District honorees advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America ballot. First, second and third team Academic All-America honorees will be announced in June.

Capell has already been named an All-Region First Team outfielder by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) and Division II Conference Commissioner’s Association (D2CCA). She was also an All-LSC First Team selection.

She hit .387 in her sophomore campaign with 61 hits, 44 runs scored, 17 doubles, 18 home runs, and 68 RBI. She set the new program standard for RBI (68) and slugging percentage (.822) in a single season and tied the single-season record for home runs (18). Her sophomore season ranks among the top 10 in eight different statistical categories in the Tarleton record book.

Capell is a sophomore kinesiology major from Midlothian, Texas.
