Officials at Stephenville HS held a jersey retirement ceremony. It was originally planned to be held at the James T. Young baseball field, but had to be moved into Gandy Gymnasium at SHS due to the rain.
Brock Holt, who graduated in 2006 and whose jersey was being retired, was present along with numerous community leaders, friends and family members. Shortly after being presented with the Key to the City by Stephenville Councilman, Alan Nix, Holt spoke to the crowd.
Holt’s past SHS High School baseball coach, Julio Jimenez, was also on hand to speak to the crowd. Afterwards, “the Brockstar” stuck around for a meet and greet and autograph session for the long line of fans.
