Quata Adkison Cavitt Rainwater, born May 26, 1941 in Iredell, Texas to parents Travis and Opal Adkison, passed away in Hico, Texas with her family and friends by her side. Quata was known by many names, “Baby”, “Momma”, “Aunt KK”, “Nannie”, or “Quata Jean” by her friends and family. Quata was a Graduate of Hico High School, Class of 1959. Quata worked as a transcriptionist for Hico, Hamilton, DeLeon, Stephenville and Comanche.

Quata married Gene Arthur Cavitt on July 28, 1960, raising their two daughters, enjoying life together until his passing on March 7, 1990.

Quata married her high school sweetheart, Buddy Rainwater on April 27, 2002, spending 10 years together before his passing on February 28, 2012.

Quata Jean loved her family! She was the best Nannie to her grandchildren and great grandchildren, she attended every event they had! She enjoyed listening to music and dancing. Quata most loved the music of Elvis, and Alan Jackson. She was a member of the Hico First Baptist Church. Quata’s laughing and having fun with those who knew her will be greatly missed.

Preceding Quata in death were her parents, husbands; Gene Arthur Cavitt and Buddy Rainwater, granddaughter; Shiloh Fergason, great grandson; Khael Fergason, and sister; Dorothy Linch.

Surviving Quata are daughters, Anita Cavitt, Connie Naul and husband Jimmy, grandson; Britt Naul, granddaughters; Miranda Gooch and husband Ryan, Sierra Fergason, Arianna Thedford and husband Sloan, great grandchildren; Cayde Taylor, Aidyn Taylor, Addisyn Fergason, Aaron Gooch, Caleb Gooch, Sadie Thedford, Kodi Thedford and Avery Thedford. Also surviving Quata are one sister, Joyce Behrens and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

Graveside Services 3pm, Friday January 3, 2020 at Duffau Cemetery with a celebration of life immediately following at the Hico First Baptist Church.
