Harold Ray Merworth, age 79, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2020, in Brownwood, Texas.
He was born on May 18, 1940, in Sipe Springs, Texas, to Raymond and Willie Dell (Crownover) Merworth. On June 26, 1965, he was united in marriage to Donna Faye Standard in New Mexico. She preceded him in death on May 16, 2016. He was a United States Army veteran. Ray was a loving husband, father and grandfather, always finding time for his family while taking care of his business as a carpenter and building contractor. In his free time, he enjoyed numerous outdoor activities including hunting and fishing. He was also a talented musician who shared his love of music with his many friends and family members.
He is survived by his daughter, Michelle Stephenson and husband Larry of Comanche; son, Trooper Merworth of Comanche; grandchildren: Tonna Srader and fiancé Kyle Daniels of Conroe and Taylor Stephenson and wife Rachel of College Station; sisters, Bobbie Merworth Wyatt, Marjorie Merworth Sturgill, and Patsy Merworth Murphey; brothers, Dale Merworth and Roy Merworth; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond E. and Willie Dell (Crownover) Merworth; brother, Lawrence Merworth; and sisters, Vivian Merworth Winfrey and Betty Jo Merworth.
