(Norma) Jean Huggins went to meet her Lord and Savior in glory on Monday, August 17, 2020; celebrating a life well lived and loved, as mom, Momma, Gigi, Granny, Aunt Jean, Sister, and Miss Jean.
All of these and more describe the beautiful Godly woman we have known and will miss something fierce.
She was born February 17,1935, in Wesson, Arkansas as Norma Jean Mix To Lena Dale Holland Mix and Leonard Earl Mix. Her parents, a brother, Leonard Mix, and the father of her two children, Paul E. Huggins, precede her in death.
She leaves behind her son, Paul E. Huggins, of Ft. Worth, Texas and her daughter, Paula Huggins Kavanagh and her husband, Kenneth of Gustine, Texas; her grandchildren and great grandchildren, Mary (Kati) Kavanagh of Battleground, WA, Joshua Kavanagh, his wife Kimmie, and daughters Kendal Hack, Kara Hack, and Felicity Kavanagh of Arlington, Texas, Megan Wheeler, her husband Andrew and son, Colton Wheeler of Gustine, Texas; and many more “adopted by love”, sons, daughters, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Also leaving behind her brother, Austin Mix and wife Ruth, brother Jesse Mix and wife Betty, brother Merle Mix and wife Wendy; sister Sharon Stacey and many nieces, nephews, and other family members.
Jean Huggins is well remembered in Mansfield, Texas as the owner of the Bronco Cafe where she served up some of the best homemade food and pies around for 24 years. After retiring, she served families through Comfort Keepers and Visiting Angels where she cared for many other folks with her home cooked meals, tender care, and sweet smiles. She had been an active Red Hat member for the last 15 years. She also loved to play games like dominoes, bingo, Bunco, and Rummikub at the Senior Center and with her apartment buddies in Burleson.
She was an active member of her church at Crowley Assembly of God, where everyone knew she was there when they saw her hat coming. She loved to dress up nice and wear matching everything, especially her handmade jewelry pieces in every color imaginable! Jean would give you the shirt off her back, feed you if you were hungry, laugh with you, cry with you or just hold your hand. If you asked her to pray about something or for someone, you would know she would absolutely do it every day.
She was a one of kind woman, mother, granny, GiGi, sister, aunt, and friend. She loved God and loved His people … all of them and we will miss her.
