Later in retirement years, his love of baseball was passed on to his grandchildren. He also loved drinking coffee and talking about life but especially politics. He passionately sparred with anyone that wanted to discuss politics and was a big supporter of Texas A&M. He loved his family immensely and worked hard to provide for them.
