Freshman Mya Wesley came off the bench and scored a game-high 16 points, and Landri Withers notched 15 as No. 5 Stephenville blew open a 28-18 game for a 63-34 runaway against Lampasas on the road Tuesday night.
The Bees improve to 15-1 overall, 2-0 in District 6-4A play, and can seize the outright lead with a win at home against Gatesville.
Stephenville got off to an early lead, leading 9-3, but the Lady Badgers would score the last four points of the quarter to cut it to 9-7. The second quarter was a seesaw battle as both teams traded baskets until Stephenville closed the half on a 6-0 run to lead 28-19 at the half. The Bees would turn up the pressure in the third, outscoring Lampasas 17-7 in the frame and finishing off the game, taking the 4th quarter 18-13 for the 29-point win.
Behind Wesley’s 16 and Withers’ 15, Mya Wilson scored 10, Alee McClendon 7, Jaylee Matthews 6, Kennedy Coffee, Seren Fowler, and Jade Wilson each scoring 3.
