Reece Elston tossed a complete-game two-hitter and Charlie Hughes dominated at the plate as Stephenville swamped Brownwood 8-2 Friday in District 6-4A baseball action.
Hughes opened up his bat early with a sacrifice bunt to drive in a first inning run and drove in a total of five runs on three hits. Stephenville’s defense played great back-up ball and didn’t commit an error.
Elston presented the type of puzzle batters have against left-handers as he struck out six, allowed just one walk and two runs over the course of seven innings.
