Danny Lee Rider, Sr. was born January 18, 1934 in Klamath Falls Oregon. Danny joined the Navy with his mother’s permission on his 17th birthday in 1951 and began his lifelong love of the Navy and a career in Navy Nuclear Weapons, ending in 1974 after 24 years of service. On December 24, 1953 he was united in marriage to Catherine Ellen Bellino in Boise, Idaho, they had four children, Catherine Elaine (Danny Legaspi, Jr.), Danny Lee Jr. (Lynnell Stough), Carlene Evonne (Larry Gramhofer, Sr.) and David Lynn, producing 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. After his retirement from the Navy, Danny and Cathy moved to Nevada and continued travelling throughout the US, visiting family and friends before finally relocating to Texas in 2007. Danny was an avid reader, Navy history buff and enjoyed spending time with his friends, family and children.
Visitation 10am until service time at 12pm, Tuesday October 26, 2021, at Fairy Baptist Church, Fairy, Texas.
There will be military honors rendered at services in San Diego, California at a later date, when his remains are interred.
