Jerry Lynn Magee, born February 3, 1937 in Dublin, Texas to parents Virgil and Flynch (Hanson) Magee, passed away on November 23, 2021 at age 84 in Hico, Texas. After graduating Hico High School in 1955, Jerry worked for over 38 years for Nabisco, which later became Kraft Foods, where he was a Teamster, Job Steward, and Trustee involved in critical labor contract negotiations in the 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s. Jerry was a conservative Republican and member of the NRA, and an avid hunter and excellent shot. He also enjoyed working on cars and could fix anything. After retirement in 1993, Jerry spent many years as the Clariette Cemetery Caretaker. He enjoyed visiting with family at gatherings with great food. Most of all, Jerry enjoyed traveling with his wife, Gayle.

Preceding Jerry in death were his son Terry Layne Magee; grandson Jordon Layne Magee; parents Virgil Harvey Magee and Flynch Elizabeth Magee, and stepfather Dewey Loy Smith; brother Dewey Loy Smith, Jr., sister Nita Decker Dansby; and in-laws William “Bill” and Hazel Salmon Head.
Surviving Jerry are wife Mary Gayle Head Magee of Clairette; daughters Linda Lowrey and husband Ron of Clariette, Susan Latham of Keene, and Karen Jackson of Rio Vista; grandchildren Cody Scott of Clairette, Cheryl Walker and husband Clay of Weatherford, Randy Lowrey of Clairette, Chris Young and wife Ciara of Huckabay, Kenneth Young and wife Tiffany of Granbury, Hope Young of Rio Vista, Melody Jenkins and husband Kai of West Texas, Terry Layne Magee Jr. of Cleburne, and Justin Magee and Joanna Magee of Weatherford. Jerry is also survived by great grandchildren Keenan Owens, Kaden Owens, Sampson Scott, Kolton Owens, Royce Scott, Aiden Young, Angel Lowrey, Gracey Lowrey, and numerous others. Jerry is survived by siblings Cindy Davis and husband Quirt of Bedford, Kay (Sissy) Ingram and husband Larry of Klondike, and Ginger Hildebrand and husband Skip of Euless; sister in-law Janet Allen and husband Paul of Chaska, Minnesota, as well as by numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services 11:00am, Friday November 26, 2021 at Clairette Cemetery with Pastor Gary Robinson officiating.
