Howard Michael Garner born August 1, 1945, in Cleburne, Texas to parents Charles and Juanita (Scott) Garner, passed away in Iredell, Texas on December 17, 2021. Howard was known by family and friends as “Buster”, loved spending time with his family and friends, enjoyed farming, cattle auctions, hunting and fishing, and watching football, baseball and John Wayne and Clint Eastwood westerns. Buster worked at General Dynamics, Lacy Plantation, before retiring as a pipe welder/fabricator and rig welder.

Preceding Buster in death were his parents, his first wife Donna Jones Garner, son Michael Scott Garner, and brothers Charles Garner, Steve Garner, and Robin Garner.

Surviving Buster are his wife Judy Garner, daughter Marla Guinn and husband Eddie, grandchildren Wade Garner and wife Lara, Chance Guinn and wife Frances, Chelsea Carr and husband Scottie, Dalton Guinn, great grandchildren James Michael, Zane, Alec, Bryan, Adalyn, Emma, Lane, Willow and Reid.
Also surviving Buster are brother Leon Garner and wife Wanda, sisters, Peggy Penny Hughes and husband Tommy, Deborah Mangum, brothers in-law Ovie Miller and wife Lana, Randy Jones and wife Suzan, as well as many beloved nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

Service Information

Visitation will be held from 6 – 8 p.m. on Tuesday, December 21, at the Harvest Hills Funeral Home in Hico. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, December 22, in the Harvest Hills Funeral Chapel with burial to follow in the Mitchell Cemetery in Iredell.
