Obituary

Alfonso Aguirre, age 77, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, February 10, 2022 in Comanche, Texas.

He was born on March 17, 1944, raised by his loving parents: Richard F. Brigham and Mary Almaraz Brigham. He served in the United States Navy from 1963-1967. He served as a jet engine mechanic aboard the USS Midway and USS Coral Sea. In November 1972, he married the love of his life, Connie Aguirre. They moved to Comanche, Texas in 1973. He worked for Comanche ISD as a maintenance man and bus driver. After retirement, you could find him in his shop making something out of wood. He liked going deer hunting and fishing.

Al is survived by his wife, Connie Aguirre; Dad, Richard F. Brigham; stepchildren, Margaret Constancia and husband, Mario, Juanita Nevarez, Willie Mello and wife, Joyce, and Alejandro Ramos; step-daughter-in-law, Angie Ramos; son, Ruben Aguirre; sister, Frances Pearce and husband, Jerry; 15 step-grandchildren, numerous step-great-grandchildren, step-great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews; and sister-in-law, Mary Soto.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Almaraz Brigham; brother, Bernardo Aguirre; step-children, Yolanda Rubio, Ramon Ramos; step-grandson, LeRoy Ramos; and step-granddaughter, Haven Rubio.

Service Details

Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, February 15, at the Comanche Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, February 16, in the Gardens of Memory in Comanche County.
