Johnny D. “Speck” Davis, age 90, passed away on Thursday, February 10, 2022 in Comanche, Texas.
Johnny was born on September 20, 1931 to Johnny A. Davis and Ruby Opal (Morgan). He was a salesman and farmed most of his life. He earned his living by the sweat on his brow and the use of his hands.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Jo Nell (Payne) Davis; his parents, Johnny A. Davis and Ruby Opal (Morgan); and sister, Nelda Faye (Davis) Ford.
He is survived by his two sons, D.W. Davis, Sr. and wife, Teresa, of Comanche, Texas and Les Davis and wife, Laura, of Round Rock, Texas; Daughter, Patsy Adele Davis of Guthrie, Oklahoma; brother, Billy Joe Davis of Early, Texas; ten grandchildren, Dudley Davis, Jr., Zachary Tucker Davis, Joshua Cameron Canterbury, James Dale Canterbury, Cristie Nicole Maker, John Hayden Davis, Hunter Scott Davis, Kara Nichole Callan, Cruz Gonzalez, and Toshi Gonzalez; six great-grandchildren, Braxton Peters Davis, Lanyne Alyece Davis, Wyatt Cole Canterbury, Lailey Love Canterbury, Sidney Leigh Canterbury, and Catherine Nicole Frank.
Service Details
Visitation will be held from 4 until 6 p.m. on Saturday, February 12, at the Comanche Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, February 13, in the Comanche Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Comanche County.
