FORT COLLINS – Following an assessment of the forecast, Tarleton is now tentatively slated to play its opening round game of the National Invitational Softball Championship (NISC) vs. North Alabama at 5 p.m CT. on Saturday.

The contest between the 11th-seeded Texans (29-23) and sixth-seeded Lions (38-18) was originally scheduled for Friday. Snow and rain within the northern Colorado region forced the postponement of the contest.

All scheduling updates pertinent to the 12-team, double elimination tournament remain tentative due to potential overnight weather complications. The NISC intends to announce a subsequent weather update around 6:30 a.m. CT on Saturday.

The Texans and Lions are set to square off at TC Colorado Field on the campus of Triple Crown Sports. Subsequent games will take place at nearby University of Northern Colorado.

Tarleton draws No. 3 seed UNLV (38-13) with a victory. A loss to the Lions pits the Texans against the loser of No. 7 Rutgers (25-28) and No. 10 UC San Diego (27-26).
