October 4, 1960 ~ July 13, 2022 (age 61)

Retired herdsman, husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend, Robert Jason Caldwell’s life didn’t come to an end with his death.  Jason passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at the age of 61 after a courageous health battle, surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor his legacy.

Jason grew up in Dell City, Texas and began his life’s journey after leaving home.  He had a robust work experience.  During his 25 years at Cottonwood Springs Dairy in Artesia, New Mexico, he successfully managed the massive herd.  Jason was well known for being an accomplished breeder in the dairy business for this accomplished he was recognized and warded in the A. I. breeding industry.  He married the love of his life Connie ‘Missy’ Castleberry on January 21, 2001.  From there they built a wonderful life together with their two boys Cody Caldwell and Tyler Rodenbeck.  Jason absolutely adored and loved his grandchildren; Emily, Tori, Damion, Jenessa, Mia, and Mason.

The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Jason.  He loved the great outdoors!  When not on the dairy you would find him fishing in a stream, roaming the land hunting or just talking with his friends under the shade tree.  He had an uncanny ability to find happiness and joy in his daily activities.  He made a lifetime of friendships along the way and he loved helping others especially helping 4-H kids pick out a cow for them to show at the livestock shows, being a hunting guide by ensuring everyone found their deer.  He enjoyed his time spent with his family and friends from tea parties with his granddaughter to fishing with his nephew and others, gatherings with his best friends and family, to quiet country rides around the block with his wife.  Jason always had a special way of leaving everyone he met better than he found them.

Jason’s parents are Cherry Ann and Jack Lee Caldwell.  He is survived by his wife Connie “Missy” Caldwell.  His son’s Cody Caldwell and wife Angelina of Artesia, NM, Tyler Rodenbeck of Thorndale, Texas.  Brother, Jubel Caldwell and wife Annette; Sister, Tami Caldwell; Brother, Joseph Caldwell, all of Stephenville, TX; Brother, Frank Caldwell and wife Carol; Brother, Mike Caldwell and wife Tammy all of Omaha, Texas; and Brother, Rodney Larreau and wife Robbie of North Carolina.  Mother and Father-in-law, Connie and Brian Woodbury of Jarrell, TX; Brother-in-law, Jerry D. Castleberry of Round Rock, TX; Sister-in-law, Melinda Medeiros and Paul of Andice, TX; Sister-in-law, Callie Castleberry and Jeremy of Ohio; Brother-in-law, Steven Castleberry and Lauren of Killeen, TX; his six grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A sincere thank you to all the member of Grace Fellowship Church of Stephenville, Texas Health Harris Hospital of Stephenville and Cleburne, Texas Health Huguley Hospital of Burleson, and Texas Health Harris Hospital of Fort Worth.  Special thank you to Jason’s Surgeon Dr. Karl Frano, the numerous attending physicians and nurses, and everyone of CCS Hospice of Dublin, TX.

Memorial services for Jason, will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, July 16th at Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel.
