Nellie Fay “Nell” Walls, 87, passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2022 in Fort Worth.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 24, at the Cornerstone Church in Stephenville with Pastor Ed Dittfurth officiating. Interment will follow at the Desdemona Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Friday at the Stephenville Funeral Home.

Nell was born on December 16, 1934 in Bailey, Texas to the late Delmo and Melissa Keller Scarborough. She married Jackie Walls on July 22, 1978 in Waco and he preceded her in death on September 5, 2011,

Nell was also a devout Christian and a member of the Cornerstone Church in Stephenville. She was a seamstress working for many years for Vogue Cleaners. She sewed many wedding dresses, bridesmaids, and prom dresses, as well as farmers coveralls or anything that someone needed sewn or hemmed. Her true passion was quilting, many people still have a quilt sewn by Nell.

Survivors include her daughter, Nelda Templeton and husband Ted of Axtell; son, Dennis Lindsey and wife Sheree of Dublin; sister, Elaine Walker and husband Barney of Palestine; brother, Charles Scarborough and wife Carolyn of Greenville; sister-in-law, Veda Walls; grandchildren, Theresa Crews, Tim Crews, Nikki Ellison, Joshua Lindsey, and Katey Lindsey; great-grandchildren, Coltin Betts, Carlie Smith, Cassidy Crews, Haley Ellison, Jacob Ellison, Callie Cisneros-Crews, Kyla Crews, and Aiden Crews; and two great-great grandchildren, Preston Ellison, and one on the way; and many nieces and nephews and longtime family friend, Fran Neagle, her spouse, Charlie, sons Chuck and Rick, and daughter Debra Lynn.

She was preceded in death by husband, Jackie Walls; parents Delmo and Melissa Scarborough; siblings, Maudie Thompson, Henry Scarborough, Delmo Scarborough, Oleta Armstrong, Mozell Pugh, Levette Moody, Ernest Scarborough, Loann Lindsey; and great grandsons, Levi Ellison, and Aaron Lindsey.

Service Information

The family will receive visitors from 5 until 7 p.m. on Friday, September 23, at the Stephenville Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 23, in the Cornerstone Assembly Church in Stephenville.
