Texans end four game road trip with 6-1 loss to GCU

PHOENIX – The Texans struggled to keep up with GCU today as an offensive onslaught resulted in a 6-1 loss to the Lopes at GCU Stadium.

GCU (7-5-2, 3-3-1 WAC) dominated the game today, scoring early and often in the competition to ensure a victory against Tarleton (4-7-3, 0-5-2 WAC). The Lopes had five goal scorers for the match including Lindsey Prokop, Bekah Valdez, Breanna Alderson, Payton Fisher, and Gianna Gourley who scored twice in the first half of play. The Texans avoided being shutout for the game with a Mila Bettinelli goal in the 89th minute of play assisted by Macie Witter and Nicole Fels.

Bettinelli picked up her 5th goal of the season and Rylie Bloomfield recorded 7 saves in her first game since August as she finished the last 30 minutes of the match.

The Texans return to Tarleton Soccer Complex against Seattle U Friday at 6 p.m. CT for their Military Appreciation game.
