It took the Stephenville Honeybees (28-8, 8-0) four sets to defeat the Graham Lady Blues (27-13, 4-4) and claim the District 6, 4A title on Tuesday evening in the SHS Gandy Gym, 24-26, 24-26, 25-23, 19-25.
At the end of district play, Stephenville is at the top of District 6, Glen Rose will be second, Graham third and Mineral Wells in fourth place. Brownwood, who did not win a district match, will be in fifth place.
Stephenville is headed into the State 4A playoffs ranked #15 by the Texas Girls Coaches Association Poll. The Honeybees will be facing the Matadors from Lubbock Estacado (11-22, 4-6), who are coming out of District 5, 4A in fourth place. Tip-off will be at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, November 1, in Abilene Christian University’s Moody Coliseum.
