Dorothy Jean Jackson, 83, of Hico, passed away on Wednesday, November 16, 2022.
Graveside services for Jean will be 10:30 AM Saturday, November 19th at Chalk Mountain Cemetery with Werth Mayes officiating. Visitation with the Jackson family will be 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Friday at Stephenville Funeral Home.
Jean was born on February 12, 1939, in Lubbock, Texas to the late Robert Parker and Nelda Ragsdale Neff. She married Delbert Jackson on November 24, 1956 in Idalou. Delbert preceded her in death on April 23, 2019. Jean spent her early years in West Texas before moving to Hico in 1969. Jean and Delbert owned and operated Jackson’s Superette in Hico for many years. Jean also owned a dress shop, Jean’s Boutique in Hico before going to work for Hico ISD for over twenty years. Jean was a member of the Cowboy Church of Erath County, and Hico Review Club. The grandkids will always remember the wonderful visits that were filled playing board games, listening to her read to them and enjoying their favorite meals which brought her great joy.
Jean is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Craig and Janet Jackson of Stephenville; daughter, Sheila Jackson of Buchanan Dam; grandchildren, Brooks Jackson, Meagan Pruett and husband Kasey, Ryan Jackson, Emily Spivey, and Trevor Spivey; great grandchildren, Jaxon Pruett, Maggie Mae Pruett, and Jayden Thomas; brother, Robert Neff of Santa Anna, Texas; and a host of nieces and nephews.
