Sammy Ray Carver, 78, of Argyle, passed away Sunday, January 8, 2023 in Argyle.
Graveside services will be at Noon Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at the Pilot Knob Cemetery in Erath County. A visitation will be held at 10:30 am Wednesday, before the service at the Stephenville Funeral Home.
Sammy was born on October 20, 1944 in Fort Worth to the late Samuel Thomas and Eunice Norris Carver. He married Barbara Ann Tittle in Fort Worth and on their anniversary, they will have celebrated 57 years of marriage. Sammy worked for Lone Star Gas, Texas Electric, and Oncor for many years until his retirement. He was a cowboy at heart and loved riding horses, and he was a sports enthusiast.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Ann Carver; daughters, Janet Rene’ Carver, Debra Kay Zitzelberger, and Kristie Lea Carver- Newton; son, Jason Zitzelberger; grandchildren, Rusty Whitaker, Alex Whitaker and wife Jennifer, Damion Carver-Newton and wife Melodie, Alexis J Carver-Newton, and Ronald Mungunda; great-grandchildren, Thomas Whitaker, Tristain Atlas-Whitaker Sales, Iris Rose Whitaker and a boy on the way, Malakai.
Service Information
Visitation will be held from 10:30 until 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 11, at the Stephenville Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, January 11, in the Pilot Knob Cemetery in Stephenville.
