Tarleton Hosts Annual Brass, Woodwind and Percussion Day

STEPHENVILLE — Area high school and college musicians have the opportunity to collaborate in a concentrated environment at Tarleton State University’s annual Brass, Woodwind and Percussion Day, Saturday, Jan. 28, at the Clyde H. Wells Fine Arts Center in Stephenville.

The event features classes, ensemble performances and the highlight evening concert.

Featured visiting brass instructors are Raquel Rodriguez Samayoa on trumpet, Heather Test on horn, Seth Vatt on trombone and Ed Jones on tuba. Guest woodwind clinicians are flautist Lyndsay Eiban, Patricia Card on clarinet and saxophonist Mashito Suquihara. 

Percussionist Thomas Burritt and collaborative pianist Sunny Yun round out the list of guest musicians. Tarleton faculty members Carolyn Keyes, Dimitry Perevertailenko, Andrew Stonerock, Brian Walker, Kim Hagelstein, Paul Birk, Floyd Richmond and Ben Charles also will instruct and play.
