No danger to public following multiple shootings in Erath County

The public is not in danger following reports of multiple shootings in Erath County on Friday, February 10.

According to officials with the Erath County Sheriff’s Office, law enforcement responded to a shooting in the 300 block of Private Road 1610 near Dublin on Friday evening to find two people shot. 

“In the late-night hours of Friday, the 10th day of February 2023 the Erath County Sheriff’s Office received a call of a shooting that had occurred in the 300 block of Private Road 1610 just outside the city of Dublin which is the location of the Riata mobile home park. 

The caller stated that two individuals had been shot. Officers from the Dublin Police Department and the Erath County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene to find two individuals with gunshot wounds. Both individuals were transported to the Texas Health Resources Stephenville Hospital for treatment of their injuries.

One individual, identified as Jesse Calvin Rollins, succumbed to his injuries and died at the hospital. The other individual was treated for his injuries which do not appear to be life-threatening.”

Officials state, one subject was detained for questioning and later released. The Texas Rangers were called in to assist in this ongoing, joint investigation between the Erath County Sheriff’s Office and the Texas Rangers.

Additional information will be released as it becomes available as the investigation progresses. ECSO stressed that there are no threats or danger to the public and there is no shooter on the loose.
