According to the Erath County Sheriff’s Office, there has been an ongoing investigation involving a juvenile student at the Bluff Dale Independent School District.
Last week the School Resource Deputy with the Bluff Dale ISD received information that a juvenile student, while at school, made a threatening statement directed toward the school. The statement that was made raised safety concerns of faculty to the degree that there was a necessity to report the incident to the school administration.
The Erath County Sheriff’s Office SRO Deputy upon being made aware of the incident immediately opened an investigation into the allegations. The juvenile involved in the incident is currently enrolled as a student at Bluff Dale ISD. Bluff Dale ISD was aware of the allegations and took immediate action to ensure the safety of both the students and faculty at Bluff Dale ISD.
The investigation has resulted in the arrest and charge of a juvenile related to the incident. The charge being filed is Terroristic Threat. This case will be sent to the Erath County Attorney’s Office for prosecution. Due to the age of the suspect, the identity of the juvenile will not be released.
“The Erath County Sheriff’s Office takes the safety of all students very seriously,” said Erath County Sheriff Matt Coates. “We will thoroughly investigate all allegations involving our schools and take all appropriate actions to ensure the safety of our students.”
