Tarleton State leaves North Texas with 4 1st place finishers and numerous podiums

DENTON – The Texans leave Denton with several first-place finishers and podiums.

It was a good Saturday for the Texans as they had athletes score in the points. The women scored 101 points for the meet. Their point total gave the Texans third place in the team category. For the men, they scored 111 points. That point total gave them second place for the event.

Women’s Results
Jordan Rae won the high jump competition clearing the bar set at 1.73m. The jump makes it Rae’s best in the outdoor season and just 0.01m short of her second-place finish jump of 1.74m that she recorded at the WAC Indoor Championships in February.

Elise Smith won the javelin throw event with a throw of 43.92m. The throw beats her season-best by over 2m.

Jenna Brazeal won the 800m run with a time of 2:15.00. 

Kailey Sykora took fifth place in the 1500m. She ran a time of 4:46.92.

Men’s Results
Angel Gomez won the 5000m with a time of 14:55.92. 

Jordan Flores and Jaden Hall both placed in the top-three of the triple jump event. Flores took second place with a jump of 14.41m, while Hall took third with a 14.27m jump.

Joshua Hutchings took second place in the pole vault with a jump of 4.90m.

Caterrin Cox and Cornelius Coleman took third and fourth place in the 110m hurdles. Cox ran a time of 14.85 seconds and Coleman recorded a time of 15 seconds.

Justin Raines took second in the 100m with a time of 10.55 seconds.

Noah Newman ran 54.30 seconds to take second place in the 400m hurdles.

What’s Next
Tarleton’s next meet will be April 14-15 in Nacogdoches for the Karl Kight Invitational & Multi. The event will be hosted by Stephen F. Austin.
