The Stephenville Yellow Jacket baseball team (27-11-1) is headed to Midland to face the Canyon Randall Raiders (36-3) in the Texas 4A Region 1 Final and the community is invited to the send-off Thursday, June 1, at 9:45 a.m. in front of the high school on Overhill Drive.
The Jackets, who came out of District 6 in first place and are on a 17-game winning steak, are headed into the matchup after defeating the Midland Greenwood Rangers (22-14) in two hard-fought games to claim the Regional Semifinal title last weekend in Abilene. Canyon Randall, who came out of District 4 undefeated and in first place, beat the Wichita Falls HS Coyotes (21-16), in two quick games (16-1, 6-0) to claim the Regional Semifinals.
Now the Jackets and the Raiders will clash in Midland. Game 1 will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 1, in Christensen Stadium in Midland. Tickets for Game 1 will be sold at the gate only and will be $5. Games 2 and 3 will be played at Midland Greenwood HS baseball stadium with Game 2 beginning at 11 a.m. and Game 3, if necessary, to follow 30 minutes after the conclusion of Game 2. Tickets for the games at Greenwood HS will be sold online (https://greenwoodisd.hometownticketing.com/embed/event/292) only and will be $3 for students and $5 for general admission.
