STEPHENVILLE — A pair of Tarleton State rodeo athletes were in action Sunday on the opening day of the College National Finals Rodeo in Casper, Wyo.

Saddle bronc rider Gus Gaillard posted a 78.5 for eighth place in the first round, and Tayler Felton’s 2.9-second time in breakaway roping put her 16th, half a second off the leaders in the first go.

Tarleton is well-represented in today’s schedule as Gaillard makes his second ride, tie-down roper Wyatt Crandall goes for his first calf, and team ropers Wyatt Bray and Korbin Rice make their initial runs.

On the women’s side, barrel racers Acey Pinkston and Jordan Driver saddle up today for their first rides. Driver’s first-go breakaway run and Tori Brower’s goat-tying debut at Casper also are today.

The CNFR runs through Saturday when national team and individual event champions will be named.
