Albert Eugene Dean passed peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, June 13, 2023. He was
born November 7, 1934, in Sherman, Texas to Arthur Solomon Dean and Zetta Mae
(Mullins) Dean. In addition to his parents, Al was preceded in death by his son.
Survivors include his wife, Sharron (Bruns) Dean of Hico, TX, three daughters and
son-in-laws, and eight grandchildren.

Al served his country as an Airman 3rd Class in the Air Force Reserves in 1957. He
completed training at FE Warren Air Force Base in Cheyenne, Wyoming. His last duty
station was Richard-Gebaur Air Force Base in Kansas City, Missouri.

Al was a self-taught Petrochemical Construction Superintendent building petrochemical
plants all over the United States. He traveled to Saudi Arabia in petroleum construction.
Al had a knack for fixing and improving items around the house for his wife, children,
neighbors, and community.

Al was a trustee for the First United Methodist Church of Hico. He acted as a steward of
the property God entrusted to the congregation. Al assisted with maintaining the physical
property of the congregation so that ministries of the congregation could continue to
grow.

Al and Sharron traveled extensively in their retirement to destinations near and far. In the
continental United States they traveled to all the states with the exception of Maine, New
Hampshire, Vermont, and Rhode Island. Al and Sharron’s adventures even included
snorkeling off the coast of Hawaii. They traveled to international destinations in Norway,
South Africa, Australia, and Mexico. He and Sharron traveled extensively in their RV
throughout the Western US visiting many National Parks. Al enjoyed cruising
internationally and domestically on the Mississippi River. One quest was a nonstop
driving trip to Chicken, Alaska to visit the historical location of a book Sharron had read.
Al enjoyed traveling and seeing new places.

A fellowship with the family will be at the Family Life Center of the First United
Methodist Church of Hico on Saturday, September 30 at 9:30 am. Funeral Service
will be on Saturday, September 30 at 10:30 am at the First United Methodist Church
of Hico with Pastor Clint Jones officiating. Graveside service at the Clairette
Cemetery to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in his memory
to the First United Methodist Church of Hico.
