Whether you’ve lived in Erath County all your life and have a UFO story of your own from that night or just moved here and want to learn all about our visitors, you aren’t going to want to miss out on the first-ever E.T. Festiville this weekend! The Stephenville Downtown Merchants are hosting the E.T. Festiville this Saturday, July 15, from 6 until 10 p.m. in downtown Stephenville.

“We have all had people come in and out of our businesses and ask about the UFOs and I don’t think people who are especially newer to town realize we even are known for them,” said one of the event organizers, Morgan Resendez. “It’s meant to be a fun, light-hearted way to spend a summer evening. An entertaining event for people to come out to one evening. And there’s going to be something for everyone, so come out and support local businesses and the humane society!”

Tickets will cost $10 for adults and $5 for kids and under 2 will get in for free. The costume contest will be $5 per entry and all the proceeds from the contests and the ticket sales will be going to benefit the Erath County Humane Society. Everyone organizing and helping to put the Festiville on are volunteers so the max amount of funds go to the animals.

The event will include digital truck documentary footage from the days following the sightings on January 8, 2008, as well as vendors and food trucks around the square and face painting, a caricaturist and a costume (and pet costume) contest. And there’s going to be so much more. This will definitely be fun for the entire family, but maybe bring those tin foil hats (just in case)!
