Dorothy Estelle (Allen) Sears of Proctor, Texas passed away July 11, 2023, at the age of 101. She was born December 12, 1921, in Goree, Texas. She was the daughter of the late George and Delphia (Lutz) Allen. She married Dave Campbell Sears on August 8, 1938. He preceded her in death September 8, 1975, two sons preceded her in death, Dave Kenneth Sears on January 15, 2022, and Odis Wayne Sears on May 3, 2023. She was a homemaker and lived in Proctor since 1942, originally from DeLeon, Texas. She was a member of the Proctor Baptist Church.
Dorothy is survived by one son, Larry D. Sears, and wife, Sherry, of Proctor, Texas, daughter-in-law, Brenda Sears, of Proctor, Texas, two grandsons, Clay Sears, and wife, Joni, of Proctor, Texas, Colby Sears, of Proctor, Texas, four granddaughters, Kim and husband, Chuck McKellip, of Humble, Texas, Shelley and husband, Jason Thedford, of Hasse, Texas, Kelly and husband, Kirk Wise, of Stephenville, Texas, Melanie and husband, Jeff Stichler, of Conroe, Texas, and 11 great-grandchildren, 10 great great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Three brothers and one sister preceded her in death, Marvin Allen, Lloyd Allen, Doyle Allen, and Thelma Sanders.
Dorothy loved her family and the Proctor Baptist Church. She also loved cooking; you would never leave her house without eating! She had many friends and was always ready to help anytime or anywhere needed.
Visitation will be held Saturday, July 15, 2023, at Harrell Funeral Home at 9:00am prior to the service.
Services will be held Saturday, July 15, 2023, at Harrell Memorial Chapel at 10:00am.
Interment to follow at Dublin Liveoak Cemetery.
