Services for Elizabeth “Liz” McGee, 89, of Stephenville, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 18, 2023, at the Lacy Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Ken May officiating. Burial will follow at the Erath Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to the service at 1 p.m. Saturday, November 18, 2023, at Lacy Funeral Home. Arrangements are by Lacy Funeral Home.
Liz was born in Van Buren, Arkansas on September 19,1934, to parents Harrison R. Nott and Julia Hester Johnson. She married Calvin A. McGee on July 17, 1953, in Andrews, Texas. He preceded her in death on August 16, 2007.
Liz devoted her life to nurturing her family as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a devout member of the First Baptist Church in Stephenville where she was known as the “candy lady” for dispensing both sugar and smiles. Liz also served as a past member of the Stephenville Hospital Auxiliary. Liz enjoyed reading and serving others. She will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know her.
Survivors include her daughter, Sherry Carroll and husband, Dick of Stephenville; son, Larry McGee and wife, Kimmy of Stephenville; granddaughters, Kristi McGee; Mandy McGee, and Jamie Clark and her husband, Danny, all of Stephenville; five great-grandchildren, Lanie Clark, Abby Clark, Riley McGee; Emma Clark; Callie O’Neal; and several nieces and nephews.
