Charles Rodney Fenner, 79, passed away on Friday, November 17, 2023, on the land where he was raised and lived. Rodney, or Charles as known by some, spent his days doing what he loved: taking care of his family, working outside, caring for his animals, and fixing anything that needed fixing. Over the years, he also fixed, built, and remodeled many homes and some businesses around Stephenville. On his last day, he had the opportunity to ride in the buggy to check on the cows and hayfield and spent the rest of his day working on the generator to get it running again. He had a great last day.

More than anything, he loved his wife. After graduating from Stephenville High School, Rodney married Linda Sue Smith Fenner on December 21, 1963, at Northside Church of Christ. Other than during his time serving in the Army National Guard, they went everywhere together. They worked side-by-side their entire marriage, first running a dairy, then raising livestock on the farm. Rodney and Linda have three children, Rebecca, Scott, and Renee.

Rodney was born on September 1, 1944, to the late Curtis Wayne and Hazel Esther Fenner. He is survived by his wife, Linda Fenner, daughter Rebecca Miller and her husband Doug, son Scott Fenner and his wife Tami, and daughter Renee Goodwin and her husband Phillip. Rodney and Linda have eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Milton Fenner, and sister, Yvonne Fenner. He was a beloved son, husband, brother, Daddy and Pawpaw.

At Rodney’s request, there will be no service. The Fenner family wishes expressions of sympathy be made in the form of donations to a favorite charity.
