Victor Manuel Castillo, devoted husband, father, son, uncle and friend met his Lord and Savior face to face, Friday, December 29, 2023 at the age of 45.

Victor was born on April 23, 1978 in Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico to Conrado and Maria Castillo.  Victor was a 1997 graduate of Stephenville High School where one of his greatest memories was being part of the Stephenville Yellow Jacket football team.

He attended Master’s Commission in Austin from 1999 – 2001 and received a degree in Biblical Studies.  During that time he traveled around the United States ministering at school assemblies, outreaches, homeless shelters and participated in many mission trips around the world. Anyone who knew Victor, knows he was one of the most loving and sincere people that you have ever met. He had a true love for God and people. His heart was full of God’s love to minister to everyone no matter what part of life they were in. He would give you the shirt off of his back or even the shoes off of his feet and was found doing this many times throughout his life. To know Victor was to love Victor. If he knew you, he considered you as family, and he treated you as such.

Victor returned to Stephenville to help at his family’s restaurant where he would often be found during the week serving alongside his parents and meeting and praying with members of the community. He served at Cornerstone Assembly as the Children’s Pastor and was also involved in many ministries including Chi Alpha, youth ministry and Jesus Crew Street Ministries.  He was a licensed minister of the Assemblies of God.

Victor met his bride, Michelle at a Chi Alpha bonfire where they instantly connected. They became partners in street ministry for Jesus Crew and soon became volunteer youth pastors together at Dublin First Assembly. They celebrated their marriage August 12, 2006 and have two beautiful daughters, Ava Kate and Sophia Eden. He was their biggest fan and was an excellent example of a Godly father in every way. Victor was very intentional to disciple his daughters into the strong, Christ-loving young ladies they are today.

Family time was a priority for Victor. He loved sharing Sunday afternoon lunch with his family together at their restaurant, then his love of Sunday afternoon football at home with his daughters. He loved supporting his daughters during sports and academic events, and would pray over them and anoint them before they started. He loved music and used anything he had to keep a beat if his congas were not available.  Remembering his younger years in Puerto Vallarta, he enjoyed sharing his love of the beach on family vacations, teaching the girls to fish and cook their catches.

Victor and Michelle ministered together for more than 22 years as children’s pastors and youth pastors across North Texas including Dublin First Assembly, Sanctuary of Praise in Bryan/College Station, Living Water Church in Fort Worth, Cornerstone in Stephenville and most recently had planted a church and were the the lead pastors of Calvary Fellowship in Dublin.  His church family were truly his brothers and sisters in Christ.  Victor led by example and poured his heart into whatever capacity he was serving in. No matter the hour, he was always just a phone call away, and never left without asking what someone needed and if he could pray.

Victor served as a former SCS school board member for 10 years, served the Dublin Chamber of Commerce,  coached various local community football teams and was a volunteer chaplain for the Dublin Lions. His love of grilling combined with his passion for ministry started the “Feed My Sheep” ministry, an outreach ministry of Calvary Fellowship, most well known for weekly brisket tacos and times of prayer over the community of Dublin.

The lives he touched were truly impacted for eternity.  A celebration of Victor’s life will be held this Saturday, January 6, 2024 at 10:00am at Cottonwood Baptist Church in Dublin.  Visitation will be held Friday, January 5, 2024 from 6-8pm at Stephenville Funeral Home.
