Norman Spruill passed away December 29, 2023 at 6:30am in the comfort of his own home surrounded by his loving family.

Graveside services for Norman will be at 1:00 PM Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at Oliver Springs Cemetery in Comanche County, near DeLeon

Norman was born on October 14, 1934, in DeLeon to the late Enola McCharen and Roy Spruill.  He married Doris Morris on July 10, 1954 in DeLeon.  He was co-owner of Spruill Brothers Drilling of Odessa.

We are blessed to know that he is out of pain and walking with Jesus smiling down on us. He will be greatly missed.  He lived a life that was admirable in every aspect.  He was a godly man, a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather He was an admirable businessman and employer. His word was as strong as oak. He showed unconditional love throughout his life to every person in it. You could always count on him for wisdom and he gave the best advice with the most off the wall sayings, such as, .” I don’t know what that has to do with the price of eggs in China.” He loved traveling and was the world class pecan sheller. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Norman is survived by his wife, of 69 years, Doris; daughter, Rhonda and her husband Rick Glaze of Morgan Mill; son, Mark and his wife Kim Spruill of Stephenville; grandchildren, Shaun Glaze, Kae Cee Glaze, Brenden Glaze, Brady and his wife Evette Spruill, and Amanda and her husband Chris Padilla; several great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides his parents, Norman was also preceded in death by three brothers, one sister, two half-brothers, and one half-sister.

The Spruill family wish expressions of sympathy be made in the form of donations to the charity of their choice.
