Bethel Jean Upchurch, born November 5, 1938, in Academy, Texas to parents Rudolph and Annie (Pace) Bunte, passed away in Carlton, Texas February 4, 2024, at age 85. Bethel was known as Granny, Aunt Jean or Bethel to her family and friends. Bethel cherished her family and friends.
Preceding Bethel in death were her parents, husband Doug Upchurch; daughter Lisa Dove, great granddaughter Cheyenne Bauet; great great granddaughter Whitley Shields; three brothers and one sister.
Surviving Bethel are son, Charlie Upchurch, daughters D.D. Womack and husband Robbin, Carol Bell and husband David. Also surviving Bethel are 9 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and a host of extended family and friends.
Visitation 6-8 pm, Friday, February 9, 2024, at Harvest Hills Funeral Home. Graveside services 11 am, Saturday, February 10, 2024, at Carlton Cemetery, Carlton, Texas with Alan Carlton Officiating.
