STEPHENVILLE – Kendall Daniel was named WAC Pitcher of the Week on Monday after throwing a no-hitter in her home debut for the Texans.

Daniel tossed the 11th no-hitter in program history, beating Mississippi Valley State 9-0 on Sunday. She struck out four on the day, walking two and earned her first ever collegiate win.

“Kendall continues to amaze me each week. A no-hitter is hard to do no matter who you are playing and it just goes to show how hard she has worked since her car accident the spring of her senior year,” said head coach Mark Cumpian. “The defense behind her also played great all weekend I am proud of everyone as a unit.”

She marks just the second freshman to ever toss a no-hitter in program history with the first being Caryn Holbrook. Holbrook tossed the first perfect game in program history in just Tarleton’s second year as a program on March 29, 1997, in Stephenville vs. Eastern New Mexico. It was a 14-0 (5) win.

This marks the first weekly award for the Texans this season and the first pitcher to win since Tristan Bridges won the award in April 2023.
